2013 Paulo Freir Institute Summer Program at UCLA
“Dear Friends of the Paulo Freire Institute,
We are pleased to announce the 2013 Paulo Freire Institute Summer Program, held from July 15 to August 9, 2013, on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles. This intensive month-long program is designed for graduate students, teachers, professors, and researchers worldwide who are interested in broadening their scholarship in the fields of social sciences and comparative education. A strong emphasis is placed upon critical approaches to understanding and addressing current issues faced by the various forms of education and education systems.
Since the founding of the Paulo Freire Institute in 2002, we have sponsored six successful month-long summer institutes for visitors from around the world. Currently we are inviting U.S. students to also participate in our program.
We are excited about this summer’s program and look forward to a rigorous month of stimulating discussions, presentations, intercultural experiences and international knowledge-sharing with our distinguished faculty and accomplished program participants. More details on the program, faculty, and arrangements are available in the two attached pdf documents. Please send inquires to pfisummerprogram@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Carlos Alberto Torres, Ph.D.
Professor of Social Sciences and Comparative Education
Social Sciences and Comparative Education (SSCE) Division Head
